The winter series is going and with a three day weekend for some people, someone had to go fishing. Did anyone get a fishing report from anybody?

23lbs is impressive, some people really know their stuff.

I went out Thursday morning for a couple hours. Caught a few bass, the best being an 18" smallie. Also got a 12-13lb striper which went home with me.

Saturday I tried to repeat that and got seriously humbled. The weather was obviously different, but still stunk to have such a different day.

That is some brown looking water, did the striper come out of that muddy water? Cold muddy water is a turn off for a lot of fishermen but the fish still have to eat. Nice brown fish, most of the ones I catch have a little green to them, I think it has something to do with how deep they stay.

I had one day on Beaver where I fished back seat and between me and the front seat we could have weighed two 26lb bags. We had backed out of a tournament that morning because it was too cold and windy. We decided to go for whites and ended up with nothing but Largemouth.

Please keep reports coming, my boat refuses to come out of the garage in this weather........

Yep. All in the muddy water. And in one very small area and a particular retrieve. The other fish were quite pale, almost to where I couldn't tell if it was a K or LM.

The smallie I'm pretty sure was one I graphed but didn't catch until my second pass. Came back around and threw on his head and he bit first time. Wish I would have had more than a couple hours that day. Felt like I was on to something.

Nice fish, m-taylor. But I've read that holding a fish like that, bending it's jaw as the only hold point, can damage them. Might want to just hang him straight up and down for the pictures, rather than risk injuring them. No offense intended, just saying.

No offense taken Jeb. I was truly ignorant to that information until my buddy recently told me. I will be more mindful in the future. As much as I have read about bass fishing lately, I haven't run across a single article about that. Not an excuse, but something more people probably need to know.

With these cold nights and snow no sun the water temp has to be dropping into the low 40s. Does anyone have a recent water temp anywhere in the Lake?

I'm consider giving it go tomorrow. I'll be on a striper hunt though.  I don't have an idea where to start. Guess n e place is as good as Another right now.
