Members Green Posted February 1, 2016 Members Posted February 1, 2016 Is there a spot you can park at the bridge safely?
Gavin Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Exit by the gravel mine on the east side of 63, follow the road under the bridge to the west side, if some sketchy tweekers are there drive to Vida, goat farm, Mill Dam, our several other spots downstream. If nobody is there proceed and pick up some trash. Vida bridge gets trashed a lot , same with Mill Dam. Summer time party spots for the most part. rarely see anyone in the Winter. marcus, Eric82 and Green 3
bkbying89 Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Gavin, I was wondering the same thing about parking at the bridge. I talked to one fisherman with his young daughter and there was another guy downstream. Parking under the bridge would be a problem if it got muddy, the ruts are getting to be epic.
Kayser Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Heads up, heard of some people getting tickets for parking at the Lane Spring gate this winter. I'd strongly suggest 4wd for parking under the bridge, though (locals w/ lifted trucks and no brains are to blame for the ruts.) Lane Springs opens back up in April, and you can go out with your $2 fee to your heart's content. Other than that, I'd agree with Gavin on everything. WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Eric82 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 That's weird because on one of the brochures i had from Lane said you can park at the gate parking area...
Eric82 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I've been 4 times this off season and have never seen any...
Eric82 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Found this on the forest service website where it describes the parking area by the gate. http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5352124.pdf i uploaded the brochure below. lane spring.pdf
Eric82 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Also i read that the day use area opens March 1st and camping area April 1st. However, i guess if Joe law is giving out tickets anyway go ahead and park at the bridge. It ain't bad neither.
Ted Calcaterra Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Anyone parking at Vida slab and getting run off by the landowner? It's always a coin flip for me. Personally I think it's deemed navigable and therefore public but others may feel differently.
bkbying89 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Is the road a public road or private. Is there room for him to get around you with his farm equipment?
