I dont get your logic Brian..If your agree that developement has something to do with the decline in fish numbers, why do you support more of it? You selling lots down there or something?

Well Brian, how can you not support development?

You book your trips through one of the biggest developers on that river.

The drought took its toll, but something seems to be wrong with that river. The river wasnt clogged with moss 20 years ago, and the hellbenders are dying off. Whats up with that? Both the moss and lack of hellbenders seem to indicate a decrease in water quality. Wheres all the pollution coming from?

It would be interesting to know what you do for a living...so we could figure out some of the things YOU "support".

If ROLF is the "biggest developer" on the NFOW and the "major pollution contributor"....then that river is QUITE SAFE....at least under the current management. I believe ROLF to be very good stewards of the watershed, all things considered.

I mean this in all seriousness not being "smart." I know you are a smallmouth guy, did you get a chance to fish the Bryant Creek 20 years ago? My family homesteaded land on the Bryant and my uncles have told me stories of the insane amount of fish (and big fish) they caught there in the 60's thru the 80's. There is little to NO developement on there now and the river is no where near what it was then, sure it is still good fishing (just like the North Fork of the White is.)

Is there anywhere in the Ozarks that hasn't suffered a little from more people and more development? Nope its not like it used to be when I was in college in 1979.....its changed along with everything else. Development yes, drought, too many partiers & canoes, siltation from the timber cutting and cattle. You name it, all the usual suspects.

Looks like we're thinking about a two-night float, Hebron to Blair Bridge. 21 miles according to Oz Hawksley but we're thinking the spring flows should move us along. North Fork at Tecumseh gage today is 3.48 feet, 999 cfs discharge. River must be up. What's a good level for floating? Is it too high right now? We're looking late March or April.

Also, Hebron access has camping according to MDC Atlas. Anybody camped there?

Thanks for replies. As far as the development issue, I'll stay out of that one till I've been there.

I'm Hanks delinquent cousin and I'll be accompanying him on our trip down the N Fork. My question is where is kelly bridge? It has been refrenced in several of the messages but I can't seem to find it on my maps.
