laker67 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 For the first time in many many years, bssp has fished great during this winter season. Numbers and size of fish are up, and even a few bonus lunkers have returned to the creek. With the changing of the guard, it appears to be on its way back to the good ole days. Even prior to this latest flood, bennett was fishing excellent. Since the flood it has fished great. I know they lost some fish, but hopefully it won't affect the regular season in an adverse way. This new hatchery manager is making a great attempt to restore bennett to a great place to fish once again as in years past. Several of my buddies, Doug, Lewis, Gordy and Jeff, have caught good fish this season and I witnessed several nice fish being caught by several others anglers. Lewis caught his best ever, a nice 5.5 and Doug had 3 fish 3.5 to 5.0. I watched a guy catch one about 5 this afternoon. Many people I have talked to have had anywhere from 50 to 100 fish in a days fishing. In the past 10 years, I had just about given up on bennett ever being a quality place to fish again. During that time period, I would sometimes go to bssp just because it was close by for me. I would fish about 3 hours on a normal trip, and that would be about 2 hours too long. It is great to see it on the mend. I do not know his name, but "thanks" to the new hatchery guy. I once again look forward to fishing bennett. snagged in outlet 3 1
