DADAKOTA Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Heading for the lake this weekend and would love to know the water clarity and temp around the 47 mm. Time to add some crappie beds.
WeekendWarrior Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Well here at 28 mm it is dirty and temps in low 40s and I don't see it much different at 47 mm Old plug 1
DADAKOTA Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Definitely not what I wanted to hear. Guess there is no need to throw in my stickbaits
DADAKOTA Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Got my crappie beds in place. Had to return a couple existing ones to their pre flood locations. Fishing was was fun but not too productive. Water temp ranged from 39-42 with about 10 inches of visibility. Extremely difficult to find deep structure/shad/fish when the graph starts painting vertical lines like an etch-a-sketch whenever I ran the trolling motor.Graph worked perfectly the last time I used it. Got to figure out why I am getting interference. A great weekend to be at the lake.
WHARFRAT Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 If my temp guage was working correctly, on Saturday I was seeing 54 degrees on the Big Niangua! Crappie were on fire! Very few places did I not catch fish. Lot of 9-10" fish. Only 1 over 11" on Saturday. Sunday morning it was quite cooler, but the fish were still on fire. Found quite a few 11 and 12's, plus one just under 14. I stuck with Blue Ice baby shad, Saturday 32nd oz jig head, Sunday 16th oz. Up under swim docks and also brush piles in 10-14 fow. Caught them anywhere between 2 and 8' down. Lots of boats on the water. Must have been good for bassers. Everyone I talked to said they had caught a decent amount, and had some solid keepers. But water temp at 54 degrees blew my mind for 3rd week of Feb. (Sunday I found it to be 50 degree water) @lozcrappie

You may have a bracket that's loosened just enough to allow vibration from the TM to cause the interference (assuming your ducer is mounted to your TM).
DADAKOTA Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Transducer is mounted to the trolling motor. The actual image on the depth finder is quite clear. interference shows up as black lines. From the bottom up about 12 feet or so
