Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 9, 2016 Author Root Admin Posted March 9, 2016 I heard as many as 8-12 for us. My neighbor called and said he was pulling boats out... not going to be caught behind like last time. I sent him the NOAA map.
MSUFisherBear Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 All of 1" yesterday at the house when I dumped the gauge before bed. Haven't been home to check the gauge yet today, but I haven't seen anything slide by on radar yet so I'm suspicious if we even have any, so I'm guessing not much down towards the lake either. NOAA's graphicast is still saying up to 2" there in town: http://www.weather.gov/crh/weatherstory?sid=sgf#.VuCI19rnZWc I don't know about you guys, but the ground at our house soaked that rain up like a sponge yesterday. I've been working on our garden already and most of the top soil was fairly dry this morning when I left. We needed that soaker yesterday, and if it doesn't come in buckets, I don't see much in the way of run off coming from this event. Could be wrong. The peep frogs sure enjoyed it yesterday evening though. There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind. ~Washington Irving
MOPanfisher Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 That's part of the reason why water is not released heavily in advance of a predicted rain event. Actually here the rain has been perfect, 7 tenths of an inch. hay fields are greening up by the minute, some wheat fields must have gotten fertilized before the rain because they are turning a wonderful dark green and my strawberries that I fertilized a few days ago and looking lively. even got a little additional flow in the rivers, should make fishing even better, as I don't think it is enough to muddy it up, just warm it up and raise it a little.
