Smalls21 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 my shop has installed a LOT of Garmin's this year, I would say upwards of 30 installs in the past month. Garmin has really stepped up their game in the past 2years, to compete with Lowrance and Humminbird
DChance Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 good to hear. would you consider that one to be the competition for the Helix models from Humminbird?

I would say it's a step up from the Helix models as these can be networked and the Helix cannot. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

Helix 9, 10, and 12 can. the Helix 5, and 7 are the only ones that cannot. For comparison sake, you are right, the 7 inch screen equivalent cannot. One thing I like about the bigger helix is the Auto charts. Does this Garmin do and auto mapping? Also, is it compatible with their front facing sonar deal???

The 73sv does have the automap feature called Quickdraw Contours and it is compatible with the Panoptix transducer (front facing) DChance 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
