Bushbeater Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Went to the St. Louis Cabelas today with the intention of buying the Pfleuger Purist they are advertising at half price. Of course they had none and the sales staff seemed as if they didn't even know there was a sale. Most of their other advertised items were also in short supply. Bought a few Bandit cranks for $2.99 and went to bass pro to spend my money. Picked up one of the Browning airstream rods for my new spinning reel I hadn't bought yet. Got home and ordered two of the Purists online. Bought one of each size offered, a 1330 and a 1335. Never had a Pfleuger before, I hope they work out. Planning on using one for a Crappie rig and the second for Ned rig type baits. I guess my point is I felt it was a waste of time at the Cabelas store and I wonder if the merger or proposed merger has already ruined them?
podum Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 cabelas online > cabelas store. I've had similar in store experiences. I really hope the customer service doesn't suffer in the future. BTW... you will love the Pfleugers. I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
jdmidwest Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I got the same ad. Went to the store Sat. and did not find anything on the ad I went to buy. Walked out empty handed. Ended up finding most of the stuff at Gander Mtn. Bass Pro had sent me a $25 card ad for looking at a boat. All I had to do was find someone to show me a boat. Get back to the Boat Center and they were having a dog show. No boat helpers around in sight. Went in there before Christmas and the Boat Center was full of Christmas crap and Santa Claus. I begin to wonder if they actually want to sell anything at a store any more. mixermarkb and marcus 2 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S.
