Go to the set up and make sure it is on shallow water mode. From there just play wiith the sensitivity setting. put a bass jig back there till you can see it. then adjust the sensitivity. Your gonna have a lot of clutter in the first 10 feet but just ignore that. If they are that shallow you dont need electromics

I had one, my son uses it on his boat now. Make sure the water clarity is set right, and the transducer should be in the water all the time even when up on plane. You will not be able to read the bottom after 30 mph or so. What problems are you having?

you can go to your settings & put it on simulater, its like being on the water you can start playing with sensitivety, surface clutter, etc  or go on lowrance web site they have some demo`s on how to set it up
