In going to make my first ever trip to the bourbeuse this week. I will be wading, which I know will limit the fishable water. I plan on mainly using crawfish pattern cranks and plastics, as well as spinner/buzzbaitz. I expect the fish will mostly be in the lower to mid water columns, and very little visibility. Just wanted to see if anyone has any advice for a bourbeuse virgin. Also, would it be worth it to target catfish if all else fails? Thanks,-Mike

Tough river to wade. It's mostly long slow deep water interspersed with short riffles even on the upper end. Get out the maps and be prepared to move from crossing to crossing until you find the fish.

That's the plan Gavin. This is mainly just me scouting out new waters that I have not fished. Going to bounce around and see what I get to cooperate with me. I'm looking to explore some new territory year.

I have been fortunate to be invites to float and fish the Bourbeuse a few times by some fellas that fish it regularly.  Usually won the braggin rights for most keepers caught and released by going old school.  J-9 floating jointed rapala  chartreuse back.  The bass acted like they had never eaten.
