Had planned on launching from mutton sunday - see the forecast calls for breezy, and you guys got me all paranoid! Jk, I'm sure it'll be fine as I'm not stupid about operating my boat in rough conditions, or even calm conditions...

Ketchup, I have a 17'6 nitro fiberglass... so not the biggest or greatest vessel for taking on title waves...

What has worked for you at TR will work on Stockton for the most part. You will have to change things up a bit.

Power fishing is more up my alley this far into my fishing life, although I'm forcing myself to slow down and try things I'm not confident in this year when conditions call for it.  Love throwing a crank and spinner though....

By "change things up a bit" do you mean how I work those baits, where I throw them, colors, etc?

Thanks,

Nick

TR has better average size. Stockton has better everything else well except hat the wind is often MUCH worse at Stockton than TR.

Less people and more fish. More walleye, more crappie, lots of White Bass, more bass but smaller on average, and likely less smallies although we caught them good.

These are just my opinions. I'm not a regular at either lake. If I could chose ONLY one, I'd take Stockton EVERY time. Just sayin.

This would be my exact assessment.  Stockton is a wonderful lake,  and usually not many folks on it.

I rarely target bass when I'm down there,  but catch plenty looking for walleye and crappie.  Whatever you use put a little purple in it.  Be careful on the main lake if that wind whips up.  It gets serious in a hurry.

I think you will like stockton.

So far it sounds very much up my alley.  Shallower fish, good spinnerbait lake, less people... and not a ton of docks and condos interrupting the banks and scenery.  can't wait for Sunday so I can go explore it a little!

Where ya from? Maybe I can meet up with ya and show you a few areas sometime.

If if your coming from the south, I would try the Ruark ramp. This is where our tourneys are out of, and a great area to fish, and easy ride to anywhere else with tons of parking, great 4 lane ramp with dock.  It's one of the best camping areas also.

TinBoats BassClub.  An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

I will definitely try out ruark bluff as I have convinced the wife to accept camping as part of our life time leisure activities.  She just prefers the kayak and river to the bass boat and the lake!

I'm from Springfield so I imagine I'll mostly use mutton creek, ruark bluff and cedarridge as launch sites, and would definitely like to run around the lake with someone familiar to it for a day, ketchup.  Just be prepared for questions as I am a sponge for gaining any information about fishing.
