august trip questions

im supposed to go to a friends wedding in Indianapolis in the middle of august. i wanted to ask all my ozark angler friends about where to fish in that area since im gonna be out there anyway i might as well turn this into a fishing trip....so what recommendations do u guys have for spots to fish somewhere from here to Indianapolis....most likely ill fish from the bank keep that in mind..thanks

Marcus - I was in Indianapolis a couple of years ago and had a morning to fish. I fished Fall Creek (comes out of Geist Reservoir) on the Northeast side of Indy and caught some bass on flukes and jigs with plastic crayfish bodies. Nothing big, but a fun morning. Before I went I found that the Indiana DNR had a pretty good interactive map for fishing access with aerial views and I used that to pick a fishing location. I didn't fish on the way to or from Indy. So I can't help with any fishing options while you travel. Good Luck.

Geist!!!!  Best day of bass fishing ever for me was with wacky worms in that lake.  Caught 2 6lb fish in 1 day.  My cousin schooled me bad with a lipless bait but it was still great.  I'm actually  going to a conference in a few weeks in indy I'm hoping to sneak away and fish a few hours.  It's a good crappie lake too.  The whole Lake is like a 10 foot milfoil flat.  It bass fishes a lot like lake 35 at busch wildlife.  In August the whole thing might be a huge weed mat.  I'll ask my cousin how he gets em then and post here.
