timinmo Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 For me a snap will not serve my purpose. Usually I have a top water, crankbait, or spinner bait on one rod and the other rod has some type of soft plastic, usually Texas rigged. Sometimes the second rod is an ultra light. There are no absolutes and I am just more comfortable with two rods, if a person is happy with one that is great take one, but if a person wants to take two there are lots of ways to do it.

Honestly I just take one rod and if I feel the need I will switch out lures, otherwise I live and die with what I have tied on. I agree, I know what will work where I fish. I carry a small case with a handful of lures, that I tie to myself with a shoe string or carabiner or whatever, my favorite creek fishing pole, and good luck hat, and I am off. I almost always have to hike in, I love the inner tube full of stuff idea, but that would not work for me. I like simple creek fishing that is why I do it. Each to his own, good luck !
