Went out for a little jaunt with some guys who know how to fish. River up 4 to 5 feet.  Need I say anymore.  Caught a few lost a big one.

Mary and I were unsuccessful morel hunting...river color looked fishable up at our place but it was still up in the willows.

The big one I lost is haunting me.  I know it was giant.  One of the few fish I have lost on Mitch's jig head.   I jumped the gun instead of giving him the 2 second pause. Probably face hooked him or something.

hahahahaha......you crack me up brother.....I will say this about you right now and I have seen it before with a few other people but, you are extremely locked in with the mitch craw. I mean you are so in tuned with that craw right now it seems like you can tell when a fish is about to hit it, before it actually takes it.

    It's very fun to watch Aaron for me right now because you are just locked in with that thing and I just like to see big fish in person even if I don't catch it.

 

    Al you really need to come by the Craw Hole and see what we have been making

Hey a few is more then I got! Time on the water is time well spent to me. It speaks volumes that you guys can catch a few with water conditions that difficult......well that and that craw is magnificent.

Just got served another slice.  One goggle eye.  My 2 comrades caught 13 keepers. All on jerk baits! What the %+*!?$&?!  Did I say yet I hate the spawn. By the way, it's the spawn.

Yep....Mitch F and I fished down stream from you guys and I would agree...those fish are dancing  under the water if you ask me. Where we were the fish looked like they were gone.....the spawn is on on the middle Meramec  if you ask me....I won't be fish for bass until the King says he's catching  them.....that might Memorial day weekend

Coincides with what I went through yesterday. Fished mineral fork for about 2 hours and only had two goggle eye and one small bass. When I did see smallmouth of decent size they appeared to be on beds.

Just remember, the big females don't stay on the beds long, and the big ones seem to spawn the earliest.  Although male smallies can also get big, there will be some big ladies (although a little slimmed down) off the beds soon.
