Members Coach_Beck Posted May 12, 2016 Members Posted May 12, 2016 Went out for a couple hours around Cape Fair. Didnt go very far, I was blind as far electronics so I kept to locations I felt comfortable with boating around in. Not being able to locate fish made it a little difficult. Landed 2 fish in couple hours. LM came on a grub around a dock, had another decent get hooked then shake it out close to the boat. Switched to a swimbait just to see and cover some ground ended up hooking a beautiful cat. Hit HARD!!! fought for a good 10/15min..it was only about 2/3 FOW...I didn't weigh but I believe it was every bit of 8-10#s Didn't slay them but for the time and limitations I was happy mixermarkb and Quillback 2
cheesemaster Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Thanks for the report. Cape Fair is the area that I fish the most. There is a lot of good fishing in that river. With no electronics you probably don't know the water temp do you?
Members Coach_Beck Posted May 12, 2016 Author Members Posted May 12, 2016 I always say I am going to try other parts of the lake but when I get an opportunity to go I usually end up there because I can get unloaded and fishing my first spot within an hour of leaving the house. I wish I could have known the water temp to share but you are right without the electronics I do not. It was a peaceful evening regardless...love the Ozarks! Donna G 1
