Tough bite, Friday it was 80 degrees, Saturday 53 maybe..
Little blustery, Saturday I think we saw about 4-5 boats all day.

We also saw a 3-5 degree water temp drop in a day.

Smaller cranks caught us some smaller bass, topwater turned on at 7;15 and shut off about 7:45.
Right at sunset when you think its perfect conditions, we couldn't get a bite.
Tried trolling had trouble marking schools of baitfish and we didn't get a bump.

Bouncing Jigs down steep walls in the shade was probably my best locale for fish.

Other than bass, I caught some of the biggest gills ever on a jig.
Its cool to see a 5" grub trying to be swallowed by a bluegill..

Back in coves it gets very quiet.
At one time I did overhear 2 guys talking in their boat saying there are no fish in this lake.
Oh there are plenty of fish, we just run out of time figuring out the pattern..

Saturday, the topwater bite started at sunrise and ended about 9 for us. We also caught a few on a jerkbait and a few flipping bushes. The wind was not our friend on Saturday.

I've been bitten by the pan fish bug.  gill fished from the bank for a couple hours last Wed morning. was catching around 45-50 per hour, pretty slow that day.

Rob did you try any crappie fishing? it's been a good Spring for them

We do try for crappie. I like using slip floats once we mark suspended fish.

This year we just targeted bass and walleye..
