Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 21, 2016 Root Admin Posted May 21, 2016 On April 18, we received an email from Brian Latimer of Belton, South Carolina, and he exclaimed: “I had a blast at Beaver.” That blast occurred during the 2016 Walmart FLW Tour’s event at Beaver Lake, Arkansas, where he was introduced to some of the manifold virtues of Midwest finesse fishing. The day we received Latimer’s email was the same day we received a telephone call from Drew Reese of Rantoul, Kansas, who reported that Jeff Gustafson of Keewatin, Ontario, became a Midwest finesse devotee by using a Z-Man Fishing Products’ green-pumpkin Hula StickZ affixed to a Z-Man’s green-pumpkin Finesse ShroomZ jig at the Beaver Lake tournament.Read More dtrs5kprs 1
Stump bumper Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 It is so different to read that fishermen are "amazed at how many bass they caught on Beaver." I don't know if it is the water color or the high water the last few years or just the way we are fishing but I have been just as amazed with the number of 15-20 inch fish I have been able to catch. Thanks for the article.
Members Bull54 Posted May 23, 2016 Members Posted May 23, 2016 Beaver has some nice bass in it. The thing that I have found to be successful at Beaver is the majority of the time you have to be patient and fish SLOW for the quality bites. Don't get me wrong, there are times when top water and spinner baits work great but day in and day out the slower fishing methods will produce more in my opinion. Great article. dtrs5kprs 1
