Seth Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Water is up a few feet and dirty. I hooked three on the upstream side of the bathroom hole after an hour and a half. I worked my way down toward the bridge and caught three more in short order. There were several people catching trout by the bridge. One guy caught a keeper brown. My fish came on white trout magnets and yellow power bait drifted on bottom. Haris122, Johnsfolly and bkbying89 3
Haris122 Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Glad someone reported on it recently. Been meaning to go down there to give it a go, but things just haven't fell into place. Hopefully I'll get to go some day this upcoming week.
bkbying89 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I have been thinking about the springs but the crowd and the grass make me hesitate. I know they cut the grass back, does anyone know when this happens?
Seth Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 I usually don't make it down until noon or later and the crowds have thinned out considerably. The closest I ever had another angler to me was probably 20' and that was fishing the bathroom hole and down by the bridge, which are both pretty popular areas. The high water may have ran some people off, but the fish were more than willing to cooperate. The fishing is actually easier when the water has some color and flow to it IMO. bkbying89 and Johnsfolly 2
Haris122 Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Anyone been down there recently? And if so how did it go?
Seth Posted June 26, 2016 Author Posted June 26, 2016 I was thinking of running down there. I've got a craving for some baked lemon pepper and bacon trout. If I go, I'll definitely post how I do. I'd imagine the water is nice and clear by now, which usually makes the fishing slightly tougher, but at least you can sight fish and that si always fun. Johnsfolly 1
sms_alum Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Went last week in the afternoon for a few hours. The water still had a little color to it, not as clear as I remember. Caught them on the usual, trout worms, jigs and rooster tails. They still are stocking some decent sized fished but there are plenty of dinks as well. I went in the afternoon, but I was astonished how empty it was and in the places were fish stack up. Seth 1
Haris122 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I've been meaning to take a trip down to the red ribbon section or at least the park, but I just keep not getting to it. I'm overdue for some of it.

That's the reason why I rarely get down there before noon these days. The crowds are light and there are still plenty of fish to catch in the afternoon. Johnsfolly 1
