2sheds Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Camping and fishing from Lane Spring over the next week or so for my annual C&R flyfishing trek. Any recommendations on what waters to try (LP, SC, MC, etc), given the recent rain conditions ?
Kayser Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Spring goes down first, then mill, then LP. Check the LP gauge for Newburg, and I would not fish the LP above 350. I've done it over 400, but would not recommend. BSC drops before all of those. Bigger water has less timber and more casting room, for when you're deciding where to go. Good luck. Eric82 1 WARNING!! ozark trout fisher Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 You should be fine on any of those creeks unless we have another gully-washer between now and your trip. Nearly all of the small streams in that part of the Ozarks are running green and pretty right now. Different story on the G'nade and other big rivers. If anything shuts you down it's gonna be the heat... Best of luck.
Eric82 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 I love all the streams you mentioned. For me though little piney has became my favorite blue ribbon stream in the area. I love catching wild trout and the LP rarely disappoints. ozark trout fisher 1
Gavin Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 It's a nice campground, most are primitive sites, but they have pit toilets and water spigots...a couple sites have electric. You could fish all of those creeks in a day if you want. Only a 20 minute drive from one to another. Have a great trip. Eric82 1
