dnj21 Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Is there a good source of rebuilt or solid used outboards in Missouri? Looking at an older bass boat without a motor, wondering if there was a good place to start searching. Probably a 2 stroke in the 150Hp range, nothing too new (or expensive). Live around Columbia, so LOZ and St Louis/KC are pretty easy to get to for me. Thank you!
fishinwrench Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Does the boat have Mercury/Evinrude/Yamaha controls, or will you also need a control box and harness assembly? How's the steering system? Single cable or dual? Does it operate smoothly? Sounds like you're looking for a cheap insane deal, but I can assure you that is not likely. In the end you'll easily spend 4-5k before you have anything you'll want to get out of sight of the boat ramp in.
dnj21 Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 I had a good buddy say pretty much the same thing. Thinking I my have to sell my duck hunting boat and approach the purchase with more adequate funds.... Thanks for the input, you are always very knowledgeable and I appreciate the help!
Ketchup Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Got one laying around wrench? Merc controls, single cable "for now", something in the post 2005 era. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

Closest thing I have now is a 2000 150 Opti that I'm rebuilding for another forum member. It is on a 19' center console bay boat but might be sold separately. Should be ready in the next week or two. I believe he has bought another boat and wants to sell. Coming soon is a 91 Evinrude XP150, and a 89 Johnson 235 beast that I think is gonna be a fuel guzzling barge pusher for a local dock co. Only other Merc I have is a 4 cylinder 50 that I think is already sold. First one here with the money gets it though.
