It holds some real monster bass, I've caught over at least one over 7 pounds out of it. Met a guy out there that showed me his pictures of his 9 pounder he got. Supposedly he even had a day where his best 5 weights broke 30 pounds. Last i heard a state record small mouth was found in it during some electroshock studies. I can't stress enough, if you live in/near springfield then you should be fishing there. This is all a lie. Nothing to see here. Keep moving. bassfisher and evilcatfish 2

Springfield Lake has ALWAYS had quality fish in it. That's not something new. I used to spend quite a bit of time on it back in the early 90's when you could put a full grown bass boat on it without everyone freaking out. Back in those days there was nobody else fishing it. We never caught any real monsters on it but had enough fun with the 5 and 6 lbers. It still holds quality fish. Lack of access makes it perfect. bassfisher and MObassin95 2
