Blll Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Did a houseboat trip on Rainy lake 2nd week of June with same guys for 15 years. Miss fish like these. Nice!
Stump bumper Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 That really came out of Beaver? I would almost believe it but you would have brought that glove along on a fishing trip on Beaver.
Members Green236 Posted June 19, 2016 Members Posted June 19, 2016 Yeah...but it was much skinnier and had a long nose.

Stump bumper Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 17 years in Upstate New York and Vermont I caught more of those than bass, I do miss the fight, just not the winter. They did bite good through the ice when the bass just laid on the bottom and waited for spring.
Robert Haynes Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Nice fish, good memories for life. I mounted a bunch of them when I was a taxidermist. Fun to paint, not so much fun to handle. They can make you bleed long after they are dead.
J-Doc Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 You had me drooling. Bass anglers would HATE those things. They would probably make a hugh impact on bass fishing here. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
chi0082 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 If only you weren't lying. Would love to have them around here. There's nothing quite like one of those toothy beasts slamming your topwater lure at the boat right by your feet. I'd gladly trade all the bass in the lake for a bunch of those big puppies roaming around. Others may beg to differ though.
1969Larson Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 The lakes we were on actually had a really good population of smallmouth bass and walleye as well as the northerns. Literally hundreds a day! Johnsfolly, Champ188, Vinsott and 1 other 4
