jim m Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 need to get a new reel, primary use will be spinner baits. everything I've looked at is high speed 7:1 or higher and that seems way to fast to me. suggestions please
BassMaster#1 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Have you looked at the lews reels? I have them from 5:4 to 7:1. I really like the new 6:8 I got for rivers
Dutch Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I've seen some good used Shimanos sell lately. I bought 3 of the Curado G5s for $110 each a couple of weeks ago. The 5:1 is my choice for spinner baits and crank baits.
jpb2187 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Without knowing price range/ brand preference, not sure what to recommend, but I can't say enough good things about the Daiwa Tatula reels for the price. Can get them for around $100, and I don't think you can find a better casting, smoother feeling reel at that price new. Come in 5.4-7.3. https://www.amazon.com/Daiwa-Tatula-Baitcasting-Reel-TATULA100P/dp/B00GGA01DO
