How much do you think it weighs?

My son caught this white bass the other day in Illinois. My guess is it was over 5 lbs but it looks smaller in the picture. We released the fish not knowing that the Illinois state record for white bass is 4 lbs 14 oz. Anyone care to guess the weight?

That one looks about 15-16".   I can tell you that an 18" weighs under 3#

They fight like they weigh 8-10 ?

Id say close to two pounds maybe a hair over. Caught . Lot that size. Like wrwnch said a three pounder would be 18 or better in length.
