fishinwrench Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Tons of these motors out there, and parts are becoming NLA at a rapid rate. This one has a broken clamp mount and no title, so it is being parted out. Power head, ignition system, lower unit, tiller handle assembly and cowlings are all good. It does run. If you want a piece of it.....or all of it, shoot me a PM for price.
Boobie Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Wrench, Im looking for a 25 short shaft ele start. If these parts are going to be hard to get should i stick with a 20 manual start?
fishinwrench Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 No, actually the manual start components are harder to get than the elect.start components....so you're better off with elect.start. It's pretty obvious that Merc is trying to just phase out all their older motors. I think they just want them to go away. Pretty s#itty thing to do, but that's the way they have chosen to do business. It blows me away that they have so many faithful followers. I don't mind working on Mercs at all.....but gimme some parts for crying out loud! Daryk Campbell Sr 1
Boobie Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Are u kidding me!!!!!!! There has to be 200 million of the motors out there. I just found a decent looking 20 hp manual and the guy wants to barter for it.... Have my heart set a 25 ele start for duck huntn. Ill have to think on this one.. Thanks a bunch for the info, too bad i live in stlou sounds like you are the go to for outboard repair. thanks again.
fishinwrench Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 Well I do have a complete (and good) manual start assembly.
