MObassin95 Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 This is a weird question but hopefully someone knows the answer. I've heard belly boats aren't allowed on L Springfield, but I'm wondering about inflatable pontoon style boats. That's what I've been fishing out of at L Springfield for the last month and I haven't had any problems with the security guys. I'm just wondering if any of you know the answer forsure. I'm honestly going to fish there regardless but I'm just curious.

Flysmallie Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 From what I was told several years ago by City Utilities is that you can't use a float tube or personal pontoon on any of their lakes. They seem to enforce that on Fellows but not on Springfield Lake. I would continue on until they say something which will probably never happen. I think I might have seen you out there a couple of weeks ago. MObassin95 1

Yeah, there's been a couple times where the Whelan Security guys have even parked next to me when I was breaking my boat down and they haven't said anything. But it may just be those guys weren't paying attention or whatever. Either way it clearly isn't a huge issue, but I'll still be careful. Thanks for the information Daryk Campbell Sr 1

RSBreth Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 In the old days I took one of my tubes there when I didn't want to screw with loading the two man canoe - (before I had a solo canoe) - never had a problem.
crappie_adams83 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 I used to take my pontoon out there all the time now I just call it the river Cadillac if every body had a pole and a fish on the line there would never be a war
