Members Terri Ryan Posted September 3, 2016 Members Posted September 3, 2016 We would like to try some fishing from the bank at Pomme De Terre, but have no idea where to start. My husband had knee surgery back in May and still needs a crutch to get around, so someplace with easy access is needed. We'd be traveling there from Springfield, so the section near Bolivar would be best. If there is some place you could recommend and how to get there, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much!
MOPanfisher Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 What do you want to fish for. There are a couple of accessible fishing docks at the bolivar landing area on Pomme. Haven't heard and reports from that area for a while though.
Members Terri Ryan Posted September 3, 2016 Author Members Posted September 3, 2016 We enjoy catching most things including bass, crappie, and even nice sized perch. How would you get to Bolivar Landing from Bolivar?
MOPanfisher Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 You can go north on 83 hwy and then take PP east to RB and north again to. You will come to a Y intersetion, take the left and follow it down to the docks. Or you go north on D hwy, to a paved county road, 2 hich I can't remember the number of, but 64 hwy goes east there and you would go west to RB, and then north. Just comes into RB from the other side. jim m 1

From Bolivar square go east on "32" to "D"--- Stay on "D" to "PP"---- PP will turn to the west; but you will go straight on to "RB"--- RB ends at the Bolivar Landing launch ramp... Just before the ramp is the park road that goes around to the fishing docks... jim m and Daryk Campbell Sr 2 "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"

Members Terri Ryan Posted September 5, 2016 Author Members Posted September 5, 2016 With the excellent directions, we were able to drive there yesterday to check it out. I don't think we would have found it without your help. We were able to get down to the docks without any problems and hope to go back soon to fish. Thank you so much!
MOPanfisher Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Awesome. Like I said I haven't heard any reports recently from the upper end but Later in the fall those docks can be solid gold for crappie. Fishing straight down along the dock, 1/32 Oz jig head and your favorite color. I would expect to catch some short crappie at the very least. They might not fill a skillet for supper, but if your husband is mobility impaired it sure can turn a grumpy feller who is trapped inside unable to do much into a happy guy on a nice fall day. Good luck. Terri Ryan and tho1mas 2
