Members Dman Posted September 21, 2016 Members Posted September 21, 2016 Hey all, I'm planning a float in a couple weeks and need some suggestions on outfitters/resort for the Gasconade. I'll need a shuttle and would like to float about 7-10 miles to end up at the outfitters/resort at the end of my trip. I'd like to focus on the Special Management Section of the river if possible. Any ideas are appreciated, thanks!
Brian Jones Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Check with these people. Not affiliated with them and have never stayed there. But the place looks nice from the river. http://www.dixoncamping.com/
moguy1973 Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Yeah Boiling Springs is great. Super nice people running the place. Only problem is there aren't any stretches on the Gasconade that end there that are 7-10 miles. There is a 14 miler that puts in at Riddle Bridge (great float but long for a day trip) and there's an 8 miler that puts in on the Big Piney. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

Al Agnew Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 They are pretty much your only choice for the special management area. I think they would also shuttle you from their place down to Jerome if you wanted to fish much of the management area. The float on the Piney down to their place is very nice.
mzrealfish Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Andy Sheldon at rt. 66 canoe has always done me justice for any trip on the Big Piney or the Gasconade. Call him. Tell him what you are looking for and he will accommodate. He's on the Big Piney but has shuttled me and my crew dozens of times wherever we want to go. Price is always competitive but waymore flexible than most outfitters for meeting your wants or needs. Enjoy, Mark
Gavin Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Boiling Springs has a decent camp ground. Have stayed there a couple times...Usually use Andy for shuttles though, he is very flexible.
Members Dman Posted September 23, 2016 Author Members Posted September 23, 2016 I appreciate all the suggestion fellas. I'm thinking about the Shanghi springs float on the Piney down to the gasconade and ending up at boiling springs campground. Has anyone done that float?

Should be a good 8 mi float. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
