MOBass
I don't fish Taney enough from a boat and only know of two public ramps. The one in Branson is ok but can get a little croweded and the parking is not so great. Rockaway is not crowded but is dicey to launch in low water. Where else can I put in at? Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 7, 2006 Root Admin Share Posted January 7, 2006 Ramps - MDC ramp below the dam, access road close to the hatchery. Steep to get to and fairly tricky to put in. Lake is not over 4 feet deep at access point when water is down. During generation, very difficult to take out because of current. North side. Riverpoint ramp off Acacia Club Rd, Hollister. This ramp is "private" but is used by the public. Fairly shallow. Not much traffic. Ramp in on an inside bend in the lake so when water is running, taking out isn't too bad. South side. Cooper Creek Access - MDC access. Restrooms, handicap access. Very nice, extra large parking, lite. Large ramp, very nice. Off Fall Creek Rd (off 76 1 mile off 65). North Side. Downtown Ramp - located south of the city campground and south of the Branson Landing, next to Scotty's Trout Dock. North side. Rockaway Beach Ramp - located in Roackaway Beach. North side. Ozark Beach Ramp located at the bottom of Lake Taneycomo. North side.

I like Coopers creek because it is easy to launch and is a good starting spot to fish almost any way. You can run all the way upstream in just a short time and there are several good stops along the way. Just be careful at short creek where the river bends to watch for shallow reefs and again at fall creek from the dock to below the overhead cable and again at the Island before Point royale you can again scratch a prop depending on how they have dropped the lake. Good fishing. Thom Thom Harvengt
MOBass
I have navigation issues. Where do I turn to get to the Cooper Creek ramp?
Wayne SW/MO
If you come into Branson from the East, on 76, watch for Fall Creek road which will go off to your left. Dogwood Inn is on the east side and there's an eatery called Billy Bob's, I believe, that is west of fall Creek road. Follow FCR until you come to a curve which allows you to bear left off of FCR. You'll see signs for Lilley's and Cooper Creek resorts. Take the first left after you leave FCR and you will deadend at MDC's Cooper Creek access. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

loo10
Is there a ramp fee at cooper creek ramp? Not the Conservation ramp which is what everyones talking about. Those Missouri taxes paid for that one. By the way, it's an excellent ramp. Now if you're talking about the ramp at Cooper Creek Campground; there's no fee there either...... but they will shoot you if they get a chance. heh-heh Rich Looten Springfield, Missouri "If people don't occasionally walk away from you shaking their heads, you're doing something wrong."- John Gierach
97procraft
I guess I will need my concealed carry permit for that one.
