jpb2187 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Packed up the girls, left mom and the baby at home, and headed for the Black River to float and camp. I figured I'd wait to take the girls after the summer crowds, but when it was still warm enough to have fun in the water. The weather definitely cooperated, and saw several other floaters, but nothing worse than PG-13. Didn't get to do too much fishing, as I was pretty much the lone paddler while also keeping an eye on the 3 year old and keeping the canoe upright, but the fish seemed willing to eat. Caught several smallies on salt n pepper tube. No fish pics, due to the circumstances above. Weather was great, fish were biting, and had some quality time with the girls.Stayed the the Black River Outfitters at Horse Shoe Camp. They portaged the canoe for $10 which I thought was a pretty good deal. snagged in outlet 3, DownStream, Johnsfolly and 7 others 10
Members DownStream Posted September 26, 2016 Members Posted September 26, 2016 Thanks for the report. The water looks beautiful, as does elephant rocks. $10 for a shuttle is pretty sweet, I usually pay around 30.
timinmo Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Great post, wonderful time with your kids, good weather. It really doesn't get much better.
Gavin Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Looks like a fun family time! Good for you and the girls.
