Today just felt like a "striperish" day.  So I headed to the lake launched the boat, cut off bass baits and put circle hooks on 4 rods and head on out on the hunt.  I looked in all of PC except the avoca branch, checked out coose, between and around the islands, coppermine, Blackburn, HSB.   All I got out of it was a none keeper hybrid.  It was a lot windier than I would have liked but oh well.  Water temp was 72 today which made me happy to see it creeping down near the 60's. I got out there around 330-400 so i didn't have all the time i wanted but tomorrow I'm free till 3 so I'll be on the lake first thing till I have to leave. Don't know which way I'll go tomorrow.  I'll just decide that in the morning.  I'm feeling optimistic, but it's striper fish so that might end quick lol.  Good luck out there fellas!

I don't think they will come down past Rocky Branch until the water gets closer to 50s. Not in any good numbers anyway, but there are some that will hang all year in the PC area along the deep channel. But if I was out looking right now it would be around point 5.

First time poster, longtime fan of Beaver striper fishing.  Been coming during Spring for years, this November 3-6 will be first time I have tried it this time of year.  I come from Wichita, so my best shot is reading sites like these and hoping to hit it right in sich a short timespan to find fish.  You guys got any tips for that time?  We hit it well in late March around HB area so I figured working in that same area between PC and point 12 most likely.  I have a good bluewater bait tank, is PC and Monte Ne my best bet for thrownetting shad?

Thanks guys for all the posting and good information on this site, it has become a favorite of mine to keep tabs on.

I don't know how cold it is going to get, but without a really good cold front you are planning way to far south IMO, I have seen them in HB area around Thanksgiving before, but first week of November I would plan PC and North. As far as bait, that is a daily hit or miss. Also depends on water clarity if we get a big rain they run back to the darn area quick.

Only place near the lake I know to get them, years ago there was a gas station near Prairie Creek that carried them but he closed up. You can get a $120 fishing shirt at Cabela's but they don't have live bait. TV has convinced everyone they don't need it. LOL

Hickory Creek Marina carry them sometimes, but most the time I stop there all they have are crappie minnows, but have not been there in a while.

I have no idea what Ugly John's carry up in Rocky Branch no one ever talks about them and I have never been there. I have lived here 15 years and never stopped for anything but gas.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info to an out of stater.  We limited 2 of the 3 days we were there in late March, hoping for similar success.  I go with my brother and 70 year old dad, amazing the way life goes full circle and its me getting the smile watching my dad reel in these fish.
