Members BearFisher10 Posted October 18, 2016 Members Posted October 18, 2016 Instead of going off topic on the Wiggle Wart thread, I thought I'd just post what I found in a new thread. There's several websites with quite a bit of info on them, but I couldn't find anything that talked about the depths that they lived in. The closest I found was something on the long pinchered crawfish. "It generally prefers moderately deep pools along bluffs where rock slabs and large rubble provide crevices for hiding." Here's the links I found if you guys are interested... http://www.cerc.usgs.gov/morap/Assets/UploadedFiles/Projects/Aquatic_GAP_Pilot_Project/Crayfish_of_Missouri.pdf https://nature.mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/general-species-information/aquatic-invertebrate-facts/crayfish-facts https://nature.mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/field-guide/search?f[0]=field_fg_types%3A5583&f[1]=types%3A5674 big c, dan hufferd, Pepe and 3 others 6
Champ188 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Lots of good info there, BearFisher. Thanks for sharing! BearFisher10 1
Gavin Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 The Spothanded and the Golden are the most common on the streams I fish regularly. Goldens like the willow weed and shallows. Spot hands will be a bit deeper on rock or wood. Would not fish the trout water on the Eleven Point without something in my box that does not resemble a Coldwater Craw.
big c Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Thanks for posting the info, very interesting and useful.
Mitch f Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Excellent, thanks for sharing! On the first link, page 77 features a "White River craw".... looks no where near the white river.? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
