Jmontgo1246 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Put in at 7:30am at Orleans Trail to a nice 60 degree air temp and a pretty strong south wind. Water was 57 degrees. Started in orleans and had 6-7 bass right away on a spinnerbait...stayed in the darn area to avoid the wind rolling down the main lake...fished in RB and crabtree and caught fish the whole time. Fish were definitely on the last deeper bank in the back of pockets that had wind blowing against them. After a few hours I braved the wind and headed for the back half of Price branch and continued to crush them on a spinnerbait. Did catch a couple on a jig and rock crawler but the spinnerbait ruled the cloudy windy conditions. Finished the day back in orleans trail and caught a couple more before the last fish of the day broke the arm of my spinnerbait. Got off the water at 3pm. Water temp ranged from 55 to 58 degrees. Fish were right on the bank. Caught 30-40 bass with probably 15 keepers with them mostly being largemouth...did have a couple keeper smallies and one keeper spot. No giants but did have 3 that were just over 3 lbs...rest were typical 15-16" keepers. Had a great day...best day with a spinnerbait I have had in a long time. Didn't see another boat all day either. Hopefully I can get back down later this week!! Got a bunch of them on my go pro...should have a video up in a day or so. Here are pics for now of a couple of the better ones. 5fshlmt, dan hufferd, Hammer time and 8 others 11
Hammer time Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Thanks for the report and pics. Some nice chunks, way to go figuring them out. When there're eating a blade makes for some great action!
Basschomper Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Thanks for report. You had it going on, nice job. If I could ask were you using a War Eagle sb?
Jmontgo1246 Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 Basschomper, yes I was using a war eagle...i did change the skirt to a translucent with silver flakes.

redshad Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Great report J. Awesome shot from the go pro. When I was up on Sunday I only saw 2 other boats all day. It's nice to have the lake pretty much to yourself. I have been throwing the War Eagle with the moss skirt that seems to working best for me. Good luck and keep posting.
dprice Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Nice My spinnerbait rod even raised up and looked ! 50 degree water shad coming up broken spinnerbaits .... Dprice priceheatingair.com
Basschomper Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I don't fish sb a lot so when I do they have to be eating them good. Just not the confidence in them. Anyway I have had few of them break and brought that up to a buddy of mine that said he has never had a War Eagle break. Was just wondering if was just me. I will continue to use them just because what little I success I have with sb is with the War Eagle. I can't remember name but it is purple and white with chrome and gold blades
dan hufferd Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 You are fishing right in a couple of good walleye spots, great report !
dprice Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Every war eagle will break this is why the 4.5 and # 5 blades catch so many fish a boo yah is a fine spinnerbait arm as well pappi ray baits in mtVernon is even a better bait if you get a chance at them (hint) probly a weird line and or a loose drag if not breaking on my spinnerbait reels I tighten the star drag as tight as it will go and then alittle more Twenty pound test If I snag it I snatch it off persay if they bite the blade I still stand a chance with a clean snag with tight drag just throwing this out there Dprice priceheatingair.com
