JohnP Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 .........and only one for the day :(. After scouting yesterday and the cold front I had fair elevated hopes that this morning was going to be better than it was but that's been part for the season down here anyways. Long story short seen maybe a dozen birds til the time I left at 1130 and only a lone greenhead wanted to play shortly after shooting time. Did have 3 in the dekes 10 mins before shooting time. Long sit this morning with the yella dawg but still a good morning to be out. Daryk Campbell Sr, Chief Grey Bear, Johnsfolly and 3 others 6

Nitro 750 Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Glad to see you got one, I went Tuesday morning in the fog and did not see a duck. I was going to go this morning but the snow made the roads kind of slick, I am thinking about going tomorrow morning but I do not know if I am brave enough to fight the cold temps in the morning, Thanks for the report John, good luck on rest of the season!!! duckydoty Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Great pictures. I hunted Schell Monday with three others and we goose egged it. I've been debating on wether or not I want one more doe for the freezer or just start chasing walleye and crappie full time. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Still got both bow tags to fill so I may start being less picky and let one fly this next week. Been chasing a decent buck around this season and just when I'm about ready to give up on him and start chasing ducks alil more seriously he shows himself. Might be different tho if I was seeing any #'s of birds ;). Hopefully the snow up north and cold front will push some down for my days off next week beginning monday.
