I think I'll try the slip bobber minnow/jig tomorrow from the bank. Supposed to be a little warmer and sunnier.. I know a south facing bank that held crappie last spring so will see what happens. I'll post results good or bad.

Looks like a bit of a warming trend.  I'll probably give it a try Monday or Tuesday.  I haven't been out in a few weeks.  Anyone out there fished the Striper lately?  Any help is better than starting blind.

Pulled out with six yesterday.

Tons of shorts, to the point I quit counting after around 20.

Comes down to lake location.

Another friend fishing the same method in a different location pulled out a limit.

The wind shifting from another direction than what it has been the past several trips could have something to do with it.

Seemed scattered at different depths yesterday.

Pic below.  Best of luck to y'all out there!  God bless!

No stripers on 6lb test this year? What is up with that? Great job on the crappie by the way.

lol! I know!  Haven't tango with too many of them this year.  With pushing 16ft rods now don't really want to.

Only hooked up to a couple so far this year that broke off at the boat.

Thanks it's been a fun winter!

I did get out and tried it from the bank in the Blue Springs area. A south facing bank and a mostly westerly breeze blowing into the cove I thought it would be a perfect set up. A couple of shorts was all. A very light bite, the ones I got the bobber didn't really go down. It actually just moved up and tilted over. I thought I set it too deep and was on the bottom so reeled in and when the line tightened there was a dink on it. A spider rigger was loading around 4:00 they said a lot of shorts.

It was a beautiful day though. I need to change the oil in my lower unit and get the boat out next time.
