Well... I was just giving him (or someone) the bizz too... I've never been to the spot I described although I know that cove has been hot, according to some of our guides. I was hoping it was close to Fishrman's spot- wild guess I know- but worth the try.

Anywhere around Bridgeport is good- so I've heard. REALLY!

:) :) :) :)

Lilley, that is quite a distance from where I am. Went again last night with the high maintenance 8 year old. He did do a good job with the net, and caught a few keepers, plus a 4 lb. white bass. That really made his night. Had 12 keeper last night plus the white. Not too bad. Not going tonight, need to stay home with the wife. Will be taking a buddy of mine from Cabela's tomorrow, don't know if we will be bassin or going after crappie. Monday I will let you know where I am catching them. Good luck to all who get out to go.

4 lb white... must be the James arm. Don't know any other part of the lake where they grow that big.

Happy for you!

oh...

A 4-pound white is pretty rare for me. The James is known for it's larger whites so I'm going off percentages - ???

You know, I just thought of something. I used to hate it when no one would be somewhat specific about reports and now I am doing the same thing. There are about 5 areas I am catching them up the Kings right now. They are small areas, but seem to keep replenishing themselves every day and possibly every hour. The white bass was just a fluke, they came up last night busting shad and I threw my rogue out there and sure enough, she ate it and the rest is history for the 8 year old. I will be in a white and burgundy R-93 Ranger tomorrow.

I was just playing with you. But I'm surprised it was Kings. Thought it was James for sure. I've only fished the Kings once and that was from the 86 bridge up.

I have friends whom I fish with that get upset when I give details reports, but I personally like to give spots- that's just me.

I'm going to try to get over to Long Creek tonight and try. I bet the ramp will be packed!

Several afternoons last week I saw whites busting the shad about 1/4 mile up from the Viola ramp and did the same thing - threw a black/gold rogue as that was what was on one of my lines - took two whites and one LM in about 5 casts. Since I am new to TR, didn't know if this was a fluke or not. I did see boats trolling this area - assumed it was for the whites.

Might not hurt to have a spook or a fluke tied on tomorrow. Just my opinion, but the weather has a lot to do with why the bass are up and chasing. Caught them real good one year on a fluke in early to mid April in Long Creek, but the weather is about the same now as it was then. So, go figure, I will give it a shot tomorrow.
