DADAKOTA Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Amen will be there on Thursday. Amazing how much of a magnet the water willow is to bass right now.
redshad Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Amen!! I am all for it, Ed, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
shrapnel Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 I love living in the no-wake zone! Miles of shoreline I can get to any given day.
Ed Franko Posted May 31, 2017 Author Posted May 31, 2017 Went out at 12:30 this afternoon for a few hours.. For the time of day I feel we had a decent da. We had a good five keepers and a big crappie and a walleye. we caught lots of dinks also... The fish were eating a crankbait on main lake points and seemed to me to be pretty aggressive for mid day. Beautiful Lake of the Ozarks is a wonderful fishery and I am so glad the lake is muddy. Thunderstorm now wanted to go back out but home is where the heart is, Big Ed
Members dookie65 Posted June 1, 2017 Members Posted June 1, 2017 Thanks for the reports!! Heading down tomorrow for 5 days. Can't wait!!
Ed Franko Posted June 3, 2017 Author Posted June 3, 2017 A great day on the water today... I heard a news flash..... I understand they are about to stop running water from Truman into Lake Ozarks and Lake Ozarks is going to shut down their flood gates. Thats a bummer in my book a really sad day indeed. We caught fish on main lake points and some secondary points. Water is stained real stained..mid 70s and the fish are biting,, slothman 1
slothman Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 I heard that news flash too. Total bummer. Is that gonna shut off the bite, you think? How do you think that will change things?
fishinwrench Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Enter the typical Summertime worm and jig pattern. In all actuality the timing couldn't be much better. If you enjoy catching channel cat on dip bait the time is now. After getting a tip from a customer a buddy and I went out this evening and caught 9 nice fat channels in 2 hours. All were caught in the back of one wide shallow cove. I'd bet that you could hit the backend of just about any cove and catch some nice ones right now. Fat, full of eggs, and obviously hungry.
shrapnel Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Catfish are on the banks and eating everything I throw on my bass rods. Shutting the gates didn't seem to hurt anything, fishing has been great.
slothman Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Went up the Osage arm last night. So much trash floating in the lake right now. Be careful. The bite was decent, but was better before the sun went down. We found that you need to get on the bank to get bit. Rocks seemed to be the ticket. Starting to see some get turned on by some topwater. Do do be careful of all the junk floating in the water. Hitting a log is a sure way to ruin your day.
