best access if using a kayak for crappie fishing? (PHOTO) . . . wind protection, away from big open water, not far to paddle

Three places that I can think of with easy access would be Cooper Creek you can get there off of 13 at the Deep Water ramp. Otter Creek access off of Z highway, another would be Finney Creek again off Z highway of the three Cooper Creek would probably be the least bothered by the wind? BUT the wind can be a problem anywhere on Truman just have to be carefull.

Put in at Avery, not easiest to find but good put in and plenty of Crappie right there.

THANK SHAKER AND ONESHOT . . . this now gives me places to try on both Truman and Pomme de Terre . . . very much appreciate both of you for being so kind in sharing the info on Truman . . . I'm excited and will pass along results and photos as I eventually try your recommended areas . . . and special thanks to you oneshot for your input on both Truman and Pomme de Terre

Avery or the Fristoe side would be good, but Oneshot is spot on, if you don't know where you are going it can be tough to find.  You can also launch at Fairfield and go back into the Little Pomme arm, but wind can definitely get to you there.

Very Nice set up.  I kayak also. I used to right in town in Clinton MO of Deer River where the river runs into truman.  The only probably I used to run into was gar. The cove is closed off by trees to big boats, so no wake, quiet and peaceful.
