Fished from 7:45 -11 am. This was our first time fishing Stockton. Had been planning this trip for 2 weeks. I knew it was going to be chilly but this was brutal! Left Orleans launch & headed to dam. Fished points & cribs with no luck. I can relate to clear water & liked the rocks & structure. We will be back. Only saw 1 other brave fishermen fighting the elements.

When you come to Stockton you had better be ready to fish in the in wind. It makes the fishing better...I least that's what I make myself believe.

I'm with you Dan.....I have gotten to the point where I look for the windiest bank I can find at Stockton. Up river or main lake either one, wind seems to always generate a bite......and big wind generates a big bite. Last time I was up there, which was February 28th, my buddy Gary and I stayed out in the wind all day long and caught a ton. The weather service was calling for gale force winds and possible tornadoes.......perfect day to go to Stockton. It has been a pretty reliable pattern for us for several years now.....

Sold my 17' skeeter, bought a 17'6" deep v dual console to help fight the wind. Not fast but it works well and 15 mph wind is no big deal. 15 mph is normal wind for Stockton..... I think Stockton is where wind comes from.

There is a reason for all the sailboats
