Looking at the forecast for the next 15 days..... pretty darn warm!  Right most water temps I've read about were 50-51-52 etc.  How quick do you think the water will hit 60 degrees?   I'm coming down this weekend and also April 1-4th to chase some crappie with my dad (our annual trip deal).   Hopefully they will be on the banks but its always a crap shoot, especially this year!  We moved our trip twice due to the unusually warm temps this spring.

Also if anyone has any tips on how deep the crappie are right now that would be awesome.  I've read the posts on here which have provided some insight.  I fish up the Kings mostly since we have a place in shell knob.

Thanks everyone!

Not to be a Debbie Downer but you picked kinda a bad weekend. Big Bass Tour is in town that weekend and there will be 600 boats on the lake plus weekenders. The crappie might be dug into the trenches with their pickelhaubes on. I'm sure you will be able to catch some but you are gonna have to fight us bass hunters every step of the way. For Day 1 and 2 of your trip at least. Good luck.

Yeah usually we do the 3rd weekend of April, but with this warm weather I think the crappie spawn will be over by then.  I don't mind sharing the lake with bass fisherman. I bass fish myself, just not during crappie season.  I prefer to fill the freezer this time of the year.

If you are up the White, Kings or James you should still be okay. If you are in Long Creek.....take a ticket and get in line to fish anything around there (weigh in site for BBT).
