eyedabassman Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I was thinking of getting one this year to not have to use sun screen. So what is the one to buy? I did see a online add for buy one and get 3 free and I think the brand name was SA. Not sure if was a scam or just not a good one.i was looking at the Glacer one that Bass Pro has. I thought I would get any inbut from you guys that have used them before I pick one up? Thanks Carl W 1
motoman Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I hate slimey, stinky sunscreen and sunburn equally as much.......so I tried several UV buffs. Buff brand (terrible! No holes to breath thru felt suffocating!), Columbia, and a few others. I finally settled on the Gillz Mask. It's the only one I've found that's gotta large mesh opening to breath through; which makes it even MORE comfortable. (Others felt a bit restrictive breathing, even with small holes) The material the Gillz brand are made of is comfy enough after you have them on for a minute; I forget I have them on. The material is very breathable; wicks sweat away and when you buy them in a color lighter than your skin; it's actually more comfortable in the hot sun than bare, exposed skin. (It's not opinion, thats science:-) - Gillz-Mask ships fast and charges actually shipping of just a couple bucks.:-) - https://gillz-gear.com/collections/gillzmask - Don't let the 'tough' guys comments about how they look bother yah either. My father and I were very close and I had to help take care of him and watch cancer eat him alive for 5 years; until it finally got him. Cancer is pretty horrific stuff. So I take sun protection very seriously. Good to see you taking it seriously too! magicwormman 1
motoman Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Oh yeah; I forgot to mention; I use Cabelas Guidewear UV sun sleeves with thumbhole too(thumbhole keeps them from sliding up over the day AND protects the back of your hand from sun too!). They are CRAZY cool, won't slide up on your arm and actually have little rubber grippers in the palm to help hold onto your rods or steering wheel and shifter in the boat; awesome with wet hands. Very well thought out product. - Looking at Cabelas website; I'm not sure if they've changed the design or not. Everything reads the same from when I got them; except no mention of the rubber grippers in the palm; and I don't see them in the pix. (That's a great feature, I hope they still have them!) http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Guidewear174-Cooling-UV-Sun-Sleeve/1746825.uts magicwormman 1
