Jbrant Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 We fished Friday afternoon, Saturday, and this morning. Water was anywhere from upper 40's to low 50's. 2-3 feet of visibility where we fished (Glaize and 19-24MM of Osage). We caught a little over 20 fish on Friday afternoon. Most on a jerkbait. Had one that went 5-15, 4-11, 3-6 and a couple other keepers around 2 to 3. Had to go through quite a few 10-12" fish to find some quality bites. Saturday morning picked up a few more small bites before getting on some good ones again Saturday afternoon. Caught a 3 and 3-10 one on a soft plastic and one a jerkbait. We lost one that went at least 5 after she made a second run under the boat - came up and through the hook right in front of us. Caught around 15 fish Saturday. Didn't catch anything right on the bank. Needed softball size rock, wind, and some brush helped. Later in the day seemed to be key to. We struggled this morning before lunch before we headed home. Threw the jerkbait most of the time, caught a couple on a rock crawler, swamp bug, & rage bug. Threw a spinnerbait and jig some but never had a bite on those. evilcatfish, MOsmallies, DChance and 1 other 4

slothman Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Great report. I had a very different day. Fished from the dam to Shawnee Bend access. I caught one fish all day long on a square bill out of some brush next to a dock. I threw just about everything I could think of, we just weren't on them. We were fishing next to the bank. Sounds like deep was the way to go. My partner had several small fish on a jerkbait with one nice 3 pounder. All in all, it was a pretty tough day for us.
Justin92297 Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 I fished Saturday as well. Mizzou had a club tournament that day with 6 boats and 15 anglers. We launched out of Shawnee bend and I caught a keeper on the first point we pulled up on. Then we went further back into the next cove and fished a secondary point with small rock and caught 4-5 solid keepers there. Thinking we were going to have a great day we stuck with our pattern but could not get a bite after about 10:00. For the last couple hours we fished main lake points and channel banks with everything from A-rigs to spinnerbaits and rock crawlers but only caught one more keeper and a bunch of shorts. It was definitely a fun day and we ended up winning the tournament, I just wish we could have figured out the afternoon bite a little more.
