Members sb032394 Posted March 28, 2017 Members Posted March 28, 2017 Hey all! Got a couple buddies heading out this weekend to try my hand at catching some eyes! been doing quite a bit of reading and the plan right now is put in at the Aldrich access and fish the little sac river arm. What I've been reading it seems like the fish should be moving up into that area for the spawning run, and it's looking like it should be overcast which should help. We've got a pretty wide variety of techniques we're going to try, three-way rigs, spinning rigs, jigs, some jigging spoons and quite a few crank and jerk-baits. I was wondering if anyone has some advice or can poke some holes in our plan, definitely want to have the most successful weekend we can! Going to be fishing Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening. Thanks in advance!
Walleyedmike Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Sounds like a solid plan. Good luck and have fun! WM sb032394 1
MOPanfisher Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Be flexible, if the storms predicted for the next couple days dump a lot of rain in the basin the rivers may be high and muddy. Weekend is supposed to be dry though. Don't be ashamed to pound some white bass if you find them. I fished tonight and the walleye didn't cooperate but a few big white bass that peeled off some line halped ease the pain. sb032394 1

wtr dogs Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 The lake is coming up slightly and is probably muddy in the Aldrich area. The last time i was over the bridge you would have trouble launching anything larger than a canoe or small flat bottom, Then there was very little water to run in. I think the closest launch area that is open is Cedar Ridge Campground. Good luck!1 crappie jerk 1 Home of the the dam of 2009 AKC National Debry Champion.--AMMOAMMO
Members sb032394 Posted March 29, 2017 Author Members Posted March 29, 2017 Thanks for the heads up! I actually switched over and we're staying at the state park marina since I'll have access to 110 to change accessory batteries. Definitely gunna try to fish that arm a little but if its too muddy we may end up fishing other parts of the lake.
