Dutch Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I bought several pks of TRDs and some heads from Dave and decided to try them out instead of my home made stuff. I pulled up to a bank that has been good several times and decided to give the A rig a few casts. My partner was using small grubs and he never got a bite. I started catching white bass on the A rig so he borrowed one. 125 whites and 6 blacks later I looked at Ned and thought next time out I will give you a try. I never fished a bank all day long that did not give up some fish. Quillback, Johnsfolly, waterpossum and 4 others 7
Members Mike Chamber Posted March 29, 2017 Members Posted March 29, 2017 Do you mind telling us where you were catching those whites, and don't say on the water
Dutch Posted March 29, 2017 Author Posted March 29, 2017 They were in staging areas along creek and river channels. They were suspended in the channels anywhere from 6-12' deep. Not one female looked close to spawning and none of the males let go of any milt while we were unhooking them.
Members Mike Chamber Posted March 30, 2017 Members Posted March 30, 2017 Well that's actually a good sign for me we've still got two or three more weeks of good fishing
Members chomper Posted March 30, 2017 Members Posted March 30, 2017 The white bass fishing will last clear to middle of May ! All you gotta do is follow them from now til then clear up to Taylor Bridge..... trythisonemv 1
Members chomper Posted April 3, 2017 Members Posted April 3, 2017 Mike.... Little Sac is still too low to get my boat up past the old pylons so I've no idea where in this area they are concentrated right now. It was last spring at this time we could get through there and on into May we were slamming the sows clear to Taylor Bridge. We did catch a few at cedar ridge Saturday while fishing for blacks.
