Members Alumacraft190 Posted April 8, 2017 Members Posted April 8, 2017 Came in to chase striper wed night, staying south near monte ne. Weve fished/graphed from just south of point 11 at the mudline north to ventris. Graphed around prairie creek quite a bit, and havent marked enough to warrant wetting a line. The only place it seems weve found any fish is blackburn area. We have pulled 4 out of there and broke off on a few occasions. With the wind today blowing us off the water we are left wondering where are the striper?!?!?!?!? Lol.
J-Doc Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Every time I go out. Which has been 3 times since Christmas. And before that same thing. I catch more wakes from other boaters than I do fish since about spring last year. Have had some good trips but too many "why do I bother" trips for the last year. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Dan the fisherman Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Sorry I couldn't be more help Lee.... but after yesterday's searching, and half of today searching. I'm pretty sure they've moved north. Between you and Chad and a couple of my buddys and me, we had the south end and part of the north end covered. I'm think the main schools have moved to coopermine or beyond
Members Alumacraft190 Posted April 8, 2017 Author Members Posted April 8, 2017 No problem at all Dan, it was great meeting you and I appreciate your willingness to work with the out of staters. Worst case we will have to have that cold one still. Dan the fisherman 1
Stump bumper Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I was pulling around point 10 last week with nothing on the graph and stopped to reel in an Arig I had been pulling when something big hit it. That fish took line for 15 minutes with me chasing it with the trolling motor before I lost it. My point is if you don't see them on the graph means fishing is slow but if you don't have a hook in the water it is 100% that you will not catch one. I have not had more than 2 hours a day to look for them all week so I can't help. tho1mas 1

Members Alumacraft190 Posted April 9, 2017 Author Members Posted April 9, 2017 I wish I could say it was all one boat in one day Stump. We had 4 guys in 2 boats the last 3 days and we landed no more than 8 striper total. All on blackburn joe and monte ne areas. There were 6 striper boats in blackburn yesterday and nowhere near enough fish were marked to warrant that in my opinion. Whole weekend felt strange, but never the less I always have hope for the next time. Nowhere Id rather be.
jeb Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Blackburn is for sure popular with the striper guys right now. We went in there Friday to bass fish, and they were pretty thick. Didn't see anyone catch any, though. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Members Alumacraft190 Posted April 10, 2017 Author Members Posted April 10, 2017 Yea it definitely is. I had it to myself Thursday and we pulled 2 out of it and broke off on another. Truth be told I just never really felt like I was seeing enough fish to warrant fishing it but there were some for sure. The bait is another story....holy crap theres a ton of bait in there. Friday and Sat there were boats all over that area though. Yesterday I had it to myself again and I kept going back because everywhere else I ran I marked even less except maybe at Monte Ne, and there were boats all over it again. It leaves me thinking the fish are just scattered out everywhere due to a lack of seasonal patterns or the numbers aren't there, I'm hoping its the first option and not the 2nd. Just one guys very uneducated opinion though.
