Moswimb8slinger Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 I'll be taking a personal vacation while the wife and baby boy are in California for over a week. I'm planning on the May 12-14 weekend and thought about hitting a creek or river on the east side near Shell Knob, and I've never fished anywhere in that area. Any one have a decent stretch with good fishing they would recommend?
Royal Blue Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Have you ever done much floating on the James? I've caught some toad smallmouth from Delaware Town all the way down stream over the years. Not sure if you meant actual creek/river or river arm of the lake.
Moswimb8slinger Posted April 26, 2017 Author Posted April 26, 2017 Actual moving water. I fish creek "arms" in the Dam area all the time. The James is actually the closest to me, but I'm sure most fish will be sore lipped from the Bronzefest tournament on the 7th. So I'm not interested in the James.
196champ Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Flat Creek off 39 isn't bad, stop by there on occasion and have never been skunked Moswimb8slinger 1
Flysmallie Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 If you are looking for moving water then Flat creek is awesome. Usually has less pressure on it than the James. I wouldn't be too worried about Bronzefest on the James. They are going to have a lot of water to deal with. It's unfortunate for them and I wish Ryan all the best with that event, but I'm not too sad that it will be less than spectacular. Moswimb8slinger 1
