Ham Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 Yesterday water was brown, but today it is only stained. The water coming out of Cotter Spring is dirty though. Too windy for my taste today AND kinda chilly. I imagine that I need to get my excrement together so I can be ready to go. I have Wednesday and Thursday off. Not sure I can find a launch on Bull, but I know I can catch the trout on the White River. PSA- for guys looking for a place to fish Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Members zback Posted May 1, 2017 Members Posted May 1, 2017 What do you think it will look like this weekend on the white between the darn and wildcat shoals? Any chance to wade fly fishing or is that out of the question?
moguy1973 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 Is Bull able to hold that much more water than the other two? Bull really hasn't had much release through all this, but then again it's still 15' below flood pool. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Ham Posted May 1, 2017 Author Posted May 1, 2017 I think the water quality upriver would be good. Fishing is Not happening below Crooked Creek for a while yet, below Buffalo river longer still, and below Norfork who knows. Unless they are handcuffed by downstream flooding, I would expect them to run a lot of water. Traditional wading is unlikely. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. They can not run more than a certain amount of water (I believe 3 units or 10,000 CFS) unless there is a dire situation with the dam, if the Newport gauge is over 18 feet. Its currently at 32 feet. Until that comes down, expect Bull to hold all the water it can unless we have another big rain event and they need to make room fast.. Looks like another high water summer!
