dwiebenga Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Hey guys, I have been planning a trip down over Easter and I have been intently watching weather reports for the next 10 days. The Temps are suppose to gradually fall back to the 60 degree mark for that weekend, and a cold front this coming Monday. With such a warm start to the spring and warmer than average water temps it seems. What will this do to the fish as they start to stage for the spawn? Or is it simply "time to do thier spring dance" Dave PS-- Is the rouge bite done for the spring???
Bill Babler Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Dave, I have jerked that stupid thing the last two days, until I have not only worn the paint off, but dulled the hooks. It may be over. This water has warmed so much so early, I just think there is no turning back now. Fish two weeks ahead and see how you do. Main mid-lake at 62 to 64 degrees. and cove pockets East and North banks in the 68 to 72 degree range. Creeks somewhat cooler. Morning at 58 yo 59, Main lake and creeks. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
dwiebenga Posted March 30, 2007 Author Posted March 30, 2007 Bill, Thank you for the information. So to clarify, the cooler weather next week should not really change things too much. "In theory"! What has the bass and crappie fishing been like between the Hwy 39 bridge and Campbell Point. That is the area I stay around. Thank you Dave
Bill Babler Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Dave, I fished that exact area yesterday morning. Did ok but not great on the bass. Have not tried the crappie. Seems the bite is a bit better in the Kings and up the white. Draging soft plastics is your best option on the bass. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

dwiebenga Posted April 5, 2007 Author Posted April 5, 2007 Hey all, I have decided to delay my trip by two weeks. I will be down the 20-22. Hopefully with more stable weather. Guess I will just have to dream about the lake and enjoy the great post from those of you lucky enough to be close. Dave
