Nitro 750 Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 My wife and I launched at State Park at 5:45, again the ramp was in high demand!!!! Very foggy this morning so we just stayed around the ramp area till the fog burned off!!! Started out throwing whopper plopper and red fin, still no top water bite at all. Wife then switched to PB&J Ned and I threw War Eagle spinnerbait, neither one got a bite. We switched to the my old reliable split shot rig with green pumpkin fish doctor. Had the boat setting in 30 to 35 feet of water throwing on a angle towards the bank trying to keep the bait in 20 feet of water or more. Most bites came in 25 feet of water or deeper fishing the split shot rig very slow. Bite was pretty good until the fog burned off and the sun was up. Ended the day with 21, mostly smallies with only 4 keepers, 3 smallies and 1 spot. Water temp was 68. Sorry for the bad pic, I guess I am going to have to hire a pro to take my pics!!! magicwormman, cheesemaster, Donna G and 6 others 9
m&m Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Nitro, thanks for the report. I figured that ramp would be busy because the closest open ramp is pretty far away. It may take a while for Moonshine and others to open up. Mike Nitro 750 1
