Members DeeMack Bass Posted June 18, 2017 Members Posted June 18, 2017 I will be fishing table rock for the first time this week (June 18 - 23). I will be launching from Long Creek Marina. I have a tracker 175 with only a 25 hp Mercury so I won't be running too far. Looking for any species of bass. Any suggestions on where to start? Have they all moved out deep? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
fowlthing Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 There are many better people to get advice from than me..... but this is what i would do. Think points and fish mostly 10-25 foot deep. Chunk rock banks. Pb&j ned rig and jig with cinnamon and purple twin tail. Keep topwater ready for early and late in the day. Might swim a grub or swimbait on deeper deeper areas off steep points Dont have to flip to the bushes but if you are good at it do it. Try any island and main lake or secondary points. Good luck. dtrs5kprs 1
cheesemaster Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Sounds like they are heading out deep - but there are always some fish shallow. Jig and Ned rig in 12 to 20 feet of water on gravel points/ roll offs and rocky banks is where I would start. I am sure someone from that part of the lake will help out soon. I am more of a James river guy so I might be telling you completely wrong.
Members DeeMack Bass Posted June 19, 2017 Author Members Posted June 19, 2017 Thanks for the information! We got out today after the rain moved out. We were able to locate a few smallies - the biggest measuring right at 18". Caught most of them on a Ned Rig PB&J 1/8 oz in about 12-15 fow. Looking forward to getting out the rest of the week! big c, dtrs5kprs, magicwormman and 4 others 7
